Strategy is important when you are buying post cards and many different opportunities will be available to you as a collector. Shown below are three of four circa 1907 postcards of Goldthwaite Texas which I bought together because I was familiar with the town since I grew up near there and had never seen postcards on it before. Located near Brownwood Texas, it is the county seat of Mills County, was established in 1885 after the arrival of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway and was named for the man who auctioned off the town lots. It had 1,200 people by 1898, 2,800 people by 1928, declined to 1,324 by 1931 and was 1,802 in 2000. The small size was certainly a factor is limiting the number of postcards. These post cards were ordered and sold by Clements Drug Store which can be seen (second store from the right) in the last view below. I was fortunate that the postcards had been kept together for almost 100 years and when I sold them, they all went to the same customer. Having all of three of them tells a much better story of their origin and increases the value of each one. When you get a chance, buy the group! I have over 10,000 postcards available on my website Moody's Postcards so start or add to your collection today.

CATCH POSTCARD FEVER!! 100 years ago was the Golden Age of Postcards.
